Longing

LONGING

She’s on my mind all the time

I think of her night and day

I wish she was here with me

So I could hold her where she lay

But here I wait all alone

The wait drags on and on

Waiting until that one special moment

When fate allows us to be one

Others tell me to move on and forget

But they do not understand

Nobody knows what it is like

To love someone from another land

For her I would do anything

Sail across the seas

Climb every mountain

She brings me to my knees

It does not seem fair

That fate has chosen this road

The distance between us is grand

And every day it appears to grow

But soon we will be together

And everyone will know

That for her I have waited so long

For this I will never let her go

This is just something I wrote about 12 years ago....

FATE

Our lives were intertwined

Although we had never met

I felt so close to her

Together we had wept

On many a day we spoke of

The things that we shall do

Happy, fun and blissful things

Never apart us two

Her soothing voice I heard

Only once or twice before

We spoke only briefly

As I lay there on the floor

But even though was not for long

And the time was only short

I felt we were meant to be

Her and I, or so I thought

For on the day of her departure

To a land so far away

A tragedy befell my love

And there she had to stay

I longed to hold her closely

To keep her safe from harm

A bond never to be broken

Together, forever in my arms

So now I wait with patience

For the day when we shall be one

It still seems so far away

The day our fate will be done
